2008 Postcard #6
Here are the winners in the 2008 "Illinois Mansions" contest.
Fr. David, of Lisle, e-mailed his answers and captured the $200 first place prize.
Charles' answers won him second place and $100.
Our winners identified the Reddick Mansion in Ottawa; named the Cuneo family, owners of Hawthorn Melody Farm; answered sulfur dioxide and/or potassium permanganate as the chemicals making the owners of the Hegeler-Carus mansion wealthy; located 434 W. Downer Place, Aurora, IL as the home of Ira Copley; and correctly provided the hobby of Marian Sanfilippo as collecting hatpins!

Recently Steve Grobl Real Estate provided a prospective client with marketing tips to expedite a house sale. The current market requires homes be priced accurately and "issues" resolved. Current inventory levels mandate the property be in top condition to command top dollar. Buyers and their lenders want to make sure there are no obvious defects.
Fr. David and Charles provided flawless answers, and their attention to detail paid dividends.
Congratulations to all participants. We hope you join us for the 2009 contest!
