2010 Postcard #5
Here is the fifth and final image in the “Illinois Railroad History” contest.
A real estate axiom: Some real estate agents jump from agency to agency seeking greener pastures. Others never leave their roots. Choose stability.
Pictured above: The 1941 Chrysler at a Chicago and Northwestern Railway station. The building originally occupied this site, but was later moved. It returned home in 2007.
Question #5: Author Marguerite Henry lived near here. Give the full name of her pony and the Illinois town where they lived.
Contest winners will name the original railroad and current trolley museum asked for in post card #1; identify the caboose and provide the date and location where built from February’s card; from the March card, give the name and first use of the Army facility; name and address of the U.S. President’s residence asked for in April’s post card, and answer the question above.
Contact me via any of the methods above. The contest ends at 6 pm CDT, Sunday May 30, 2010. The winner will be picked by a random drawing from all entries with correct answers received by contest’s end. Include your name and telephone number in your response. Winners of the $200 first prize and $100 second prize will be announced in our September mailing.
